Sargent Tucker Salutes Motown & Memorable Popular Music Classics

New Orleans born Sargent Tucker (Sargent), aka: Johnnie Tucker is a multi-talented singer, musician, songwriter, and producer. His newest release, Simply Sargent Tucker, was produced by Prince’s former Music Director, Levi Seacer. Sargent has shared the stage with Bill Cosby, The Spinners, Earth Wind & Fire, War, The Miracles, The Ohio Players, and The Whispers, to name a few. Consistent with a vision to deliver music with purpose, Sargent’s composition “I Am Happy” was selected as the theme song for the Non-Profit “I am Happy Project.” Sargent was the featured performer at the 2011 Hollywood Global Happiness Day, whose Honorees included Will Smith, Ellen Degeneres, Goldie Hawn, and Robbie Williams.

Sargent Tucker’s band includes celebrated musicians that create a blend of sophisticated Jazz and Pop-flavored Rhythm and Blues. Members include: seasoned guitarist/vocalist, Timmy “Bad” Baker; keyboardist/vocalist and Cofounder of Con-Funk Shun, Danny Thomas; drummer/vocalist, Cedric D. Wilmott. Wilmott is one of the Bay Area’s most proficient drummers with an extensive background in studio recordings, and live performances in over 15 countries, giving him the musical versatility to inspire international audiences.

The Sargent Tucker band is self-contained, diverse, and appeals to an audience that enjoys a wide range of musical genres, creatively arranged to include a mixture of originals and popular music.
