Sony Holland

Sony Holland has headlined concerts at many of the premier jazz clubs and festivals in the United States and Asia, working with top musicians from quartet to big band. Holland and her guitarist/husband Jerry started performing as a duo in more intimate settings like bistros and cafes too small for a full band. Playing the perfect blend of romantic and upbeat tracks, Sony and Jerry formed an organic and melodic sound inspired by and surrounding that concentrated performance and human experience. The musical couple met on a blind date in Nashville, TN. At the time Jerry was a staff songwriter for Warner Chappell Publishing and Sony was a rising musician. She tells stories of her early busking years, “…the Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Square are famous for their buskers and I am proud to have been one of them. As tough as it can be singing on a damp and windy night…busking was a great way to earn a few dollars and get some valuable experience. Carlos Santana and Robin Williams started out as street performers.”
