A Night of Classical Music: Stratos Quartet
The Stratos Quartet is made up of well-established Bay Area musicians—violinist Michael Grossman, violinist Rachel Noyes, violist Elizabeth Prior, and cellist Miriam Perkoff.
Michael Grossman has enjoyed a performance career as an orchestral player, chamber player, and soloist. He has held the position of concertmaster of several orchestras, including the Cape Cod Symphony, the Oregon Mozart Players, the Portland Chamber Orchestra, and the Portland Columbia Symphony.
Rachel Noyes is a member of the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra and plays frequently with the Marin Symphony. She also performs electric violin with a variety of Rock/Pop and played at the Super Bowl this year with William Close and the Earth Harp Collective.
Elizabeth Prior is the Principal violist with the Santa Rosa Symphony and is also a season substitute with the San Francisco Ballet. Elizabeth is Associate Principal with the Marin Symphony and performs regularly with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and The Farallon Quintet.
Miriam Perkoff performs frequently with the San Francisco Ballet and Opera orchestras, the San Francisco Symphony, and is involved in a wide variety of chamber music and recording projects. Perkoff co-founded the New Century Chamber Orchestra in 1992. She is also the co-founder of Stratos—a conductorless chamber orchestra integrating multiple art forms into live performance.
