The House Jacks

The House Jacks is ‘the original rock band without instruments’ (SF Chronicle). The band’s pioneering innovations laid the groundwork for the current a cappella renaissance. Millions of people listened to them belt it out on NBC’s hit show, The Sing-Off.

Since their inception in September 1991, The House Jacks have performed over 3,000 shows. Their award-winning songwriting, riveting performances, and groundbreaking recordings have energized and inspired live audiences in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Brazil, Sri Lanka, France, Canada, Puerto Rico, Italy, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Japan. They’ve shared the stage with some of the biggest names in live entertainment, including Ray Charles, James Brown, Train, LL Cool J, the Neville Brothers, Crosby Stills and Nash, the Pointer Sisters, Nia Peeples, Johnny Clegg, the Temptations, George Carlin, Pam Tillis, The Four Tops, The Gap Band, Tower of Power, Starship, Jon Secada, Run-DMC, and many others.

The Oakland Tribune calls them “A battery of sounds that make mincemeat of the traditional limits of the human voice…a bonafide rock band …” and The New York Times calls their vocal percussion “Astonishingly precise!”
