Singer/songwriter Tomas D was born in San Francisco and raised by Swedish parents on a mountain in Northern California. With a musical sensibility based in blues, rock, and folk music, his forthcoming EP will transport you through familiar themes of longing, hurt, and recovery in a new singular way. Here’s to full moon walks at 3 AM.
Described as “a sensual powerhouse” by Relix Magazine, singer-songwriter Mari Mack and her band, Livin’ Like Kings, deliver Mack originals as well as favorite blues and soul covers. Since moving to the Bay Area from New Jersey twenty years ago, Mari Mack has played with some of the West Coast’s finest musicians all around the Bay Area and on tour throughout the nation. When asked about further bio information, she responded, “What does it matter where I have been? All that matters is this moment.” She is as passionate as musicians come and a true wild child. With a birth name of “Tamburo,” meaning drum, how could she not be?
The “kings” include Pat Duffey on guitar, Arne Frager on bass, Herman Eberitzch on keys, and RJ Franco on drums. Pat has previously performed with Bob Marley, Earth Wind and Fire, Booker T. and the MG’s, Tower of Power, Johnny Taylor, and renowned others. Arne was hailed as a child prodigy composer at the age of four, but switched to bass in his teens and toured with Maynard Ferguson, as well as composing the iconic bass keyboard parts in Rockwell’s “Somebody’s Watching Me.” RJ Franco’s musical career was born out of the motor city. Crude oil must have seeped into his blood system, because he remains one of the most driven academics and musicians to date. From 16 he was performing live shows and hanging out with Motown session drummers Uriel Jones and Benny Benjamin. He received his BA at Michigan State and moved on to practice privately with Chuck Brown and George Marsh, as well as study North Indian, Tabla, Afro-Cuban, Carribean, and Brazilian music. He has co-billed with Chuck Berry, Bob Segar, Ted Nugent, Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Neil Young, Jefferson Starship and the Grateful Dead.
